Kirkby Lonsdale is a quaint market town situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Kirkby Lonsdale borders the three counties of Cumbria, Lancashire, and North Yorkshire, making it a tranquil and picturesque base from which to explore the English Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, and the Forest of Bowland.
The Kirkby Lonsdale council came to us with the idea to create a logo that would embody the town’s charm that is so rich in English culture. The logo needed to be distinctive and welcoming, embellished with the town’s famous landmarks. A town as gorgeous as Kirkby Lonsdale needs a colourful, illustrative logo that will completely convey its heritage and beauty. Versatility was another priority for our Design Team as this logo would decorate everything from price labels and stationery to their website and social media pages. Our Creative Lead Kirsty carefully spent her time studying various imagery and depicting buildings while experimenting with diverse styles, colour palettes, and layouts.
The final result is an illustrative logo featuring Kirkby Lonsdale church, devil’s bridge, the market square monument, and the vicarage. Kirsty wonderfully captured the essence of the stunning landscape by using an earthy blue and green colour palette. As part of the project, the Design Team also created seasonal versions of the logo. The team at Kirkby Lonsdale loved the design so much that they are using a larger landscape illustration featuring more of the town’s buildings and features across their marketing materials and website.
